Professional Experience

As a Global Associate Research Director, Wei Luo works with the Global Chief Economist, and other senior researchers, to provide data-driven, thought-leading research and analysis that help clients strategize capital allocation to commercial real estate globally.

Wei has taken several roles within CBRE. She joined the company in 2014, working in a Transaction & Advisory team to build and visualize an industrial and logistics database. She then took up a research role after CBRE's acquisition of Fameco Real Estate, focusing on the merger and reconstruction of a retail research platform that collected, organized and validated industry and market-specific information.

Following her passion in global economics and cross-border investment, Wei later transitioned into Global Research, working alongside the Global Chief Economist, to lead key global reporting and publications and ensure that the company provides a clear and coherent view and outlook for global real estate through understanding, monitoring, researching and analyzing economic and real estate fundamentals.

Wei co-authors the “Ahead of the Curve” blog series with the Global Chief Economist and works with CBRE’s investment and consulting groups such as Econometric Advisors to provide benchmarking and forecasting services. Prior to joining CBRE, Wei graduated from the Penn State University with highest distinction from the Schreyer Honors College. Wei obtained a degree in Economics and a minor in Business with a Real Estate emphasis.
