CBRE Brokers Sale of Trophy Apartment Building on Downtown Seattle Waterfront

CBRE announced the sale of The Post, a high-rise apartment building located on Seattle’s revitalized waterfront, to Griffis Residential. Jon Hallgrimson, Eli Hanacek, Mark Washington and Kyle Yamamoto represented the seller, an institutional investor.

Built in 2013, The Post stands 16 stories at 888 Western Avenue in downtown Seattle. The building has 208 units with studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans that average 701 sq. ft. Community amenities include a rooftop terrace with a grilling area and reflection pool, theater room, fitness center and yoga room, conference room, demonstration kitchen, dog lounge and game room.

“The Post is a trophy building with condo-quality finishes and unobstructed views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains. Renter demand for the apartments is fueled by the building’s walkability to the Puget Sound’s top employers and most iconic attractions,” said Jon Hallgrimson, vice chairman, CBRE.

The property is 150 yards from the Bay and adjacent Seattle’s Waterfront Redevelopment project. The $728 million project is working to improve accessibility and aesthetics around downtown Seattle’s waterfront. The Post is also located within blocks of the Link Light Rail, Seattle Streetcar, Amtrak Cascades, King Street Station and the Seattle Ferry Terminal.
