CBRE Korea Strengthens Retail Service Competitiveness with Expert Appointment for Complex and Strata-title Retail Facilities

March 31, 2025 (Seoul) – CBRE Korea, a leading global commercial real estate services firm, announced the appointment of Ji Sun-myeong (Andrew), an expert in complex and strata-title retail facilities, as Director to launch its dedicated Planning & Leasing service.

Joining the Advisory & Transaction (A&T) Retail department, Mr Ji is a seasoned professional with two decades of experience, notably introducing Korea's first lease activation and property management service for strata-title commercial properties known as 'Leasing Care.' Ji's extensive background includes complex retail development and operations, strata-title retail leasing and asset management, and merchandise development (MD) strategy consulting. Over the past 15 years, he has served as the head of the retail division at Avison Young Korea, overseeing major complex retail projects such as Gasan Public, Dongtan LakeCoMo, and Wirye I-Park Avenue. He has also handled comprehensive retail master planning for significant urban redevelopment projects including Hannam Districts 2 and 3, Northern Shin-Yongsan District 2, and Yeouido Hanyang Apartments, demonstrating expertise spanning initial project planning through tenant placement, operational strategy development, and asset disposition.

With this appointment, CBRE Korea further strengthens its capabilities, providing integrated solutions from planning, development, and operations to management and disposition of large-scale complex and strata-title commercial facilities. This complements existing advisory services in retail leasing, cross-border consulting for domestic brands entering overseas markets and vice versa, street retail, office arcade consulting, and medical-specialized commercial property solutions.

The newly formed Planning & Leasing team will specialize in site and demand analysis, concept development, product planning, advisory services for lease-type retail properties, and strata-title retail 'Leasing Care'. This comprehensive, specialized approach will offer a one-stop service covering initial project planning through tenant acquisition and leasing management, significantly enhancing CBRE Korea's competitive edge in the retail service sector.
